Health & Wellbeing: Coaching & Counselling Psychology Service
We all face life’s adversities, paradoxes and challenges and the ways in which we deal with those can be invaluably informative. Therapy and coaching can help us become a creative source of possibilities, conscious and active in the shaping of our life-stories.
The Service
- Focus on Person-centred therapy (Counselling), Mindfulness and Coaching.
- Have the potential to positively change behaviour improving health outcomes leading to better overall patient wellness by following a patient-centred process to empower the person to develop and achieve self-determined health goals.
- The approach focuses on changing problematic behaviours, feelings, and thoughts by discovering their unconscious meanings and motivations.
- Support patients in mobilising internal strengths and external resources, developing self-management strategies for making sustainable, healthy lifestyle change.
- Listen with compassion, acknowledging emotions and exploring how to harness them for improved motivation.
- Are always respectful and non-judgmental helping people take charge of their own health and make changes that lead to a better quality of life.
- Harness patient’s inner strengths, their capacity for change - always honouring that people are ultimately the experts of their lives.
- Always address what matters most to the person right now – so what is important to the person not what is wrong with them.
Inclusion Criteria: All patients should be 15 to 65, and enthusiastic to receive support (i.e., with regards to low mood/depression/ anxiety/ worry/ stress/ panic attacks/ low self-esteem).
Exclusion : Patients who require specialist support for issues around addiction, psychosis etc). Patients who are suicidal or self-harming.
